So, for Anne who asked: the poulet confit au bacon recipe. Really easy.
Chop two or three onions and cover with them the bottom of a dish (something going to the oven). Cut chicken breasts in half and wrap a slice of bacon around each piece of chicken. Place them on the onions, add (not to slim) slices of tomatoes. Pour some olive oil, pepper and mixed herbs (herbes de Provence). Let it cook in the oven (th. 180° C) for two hours, you can add a little bit of water from time to time.
It's exhausting to write a recipe in English. I never feel like I'm using the right words to describe an action.
Tonight I came home with the idea of the perfect meal I wanted for dinner: some poulet confit au bacon and home made soup. Turned out the first one looks delicious and is really easy to make, but takes two hours in the oven to cook, and the second one I prepaired a few days ago and put in the freezer doesn't want to unfreeze quickly enough. So my dinner is crackers and cheese with hot lemonade. I'll have my perfect dinner tomorrow! :)
I discovered a new vegetable this week end: the Jerusalem artichoke. In French it's called topinambour: It's really good! With such a funny name it's not obvious that it will taste like artichoke, in this the English name is far more appropriate. I like it that I still have many things to experience in this world.
I've decided to start this journal again, because I'm afraid of losing my ordinary vocabulary since I'm focused on Spanish this year - I'll explain in another post. Furthermore, I finished the English books I bought (the Pern series) and now have a whole pile of books in French to read.
